Therapeutic AF (and fun)
Counselling doesn’t have to be clinical, cold, or confusing. I offer real, relatable support that meets you where you’re at, without the fluff. Whether you’re navigating stress, burnout, big life stuff or just want to feel more you, I’ve got you. Let’s talk, laugh, cry, grow and maybe swear a little if that helps too.
Suss me out.
Hi, I'm Heidi. I've been working in the counselling space for the past 5 years, after a light-bulb moment during an Aussie drought led me to study counselling and psychology.
I have worked predominantly with rural communities affected by natural disaster, and most recently for a state ambulance service, supporting first responder personnel.
On paper, I have a Diploma in Counselling, Bachelor in Psychological Science, and fourth year study in Psychology (Honours Equivalent). As part of my 4th year thesis in psychology I explored the decision making habits of people in rural communities when it comes to making decisions about their health and how they access health information. The results from this study highlighted the importance of place-based, transparent, trusting and easily-accessible support when it comes to seeking help.
I am now diving a little deeper with a Master's in Neuroscience, This lets me blend research with practice, offer neuro-informed counselling, psycho-education, and most importantly, keep things real.
My counselling style is person-centred, evidence-informed, and strengths-based. I’m not here to give advice (you know the old you can drag a horse to water), but to help you identify your own strengths, reflect on your experiences, and feel truly heard. Together, we create space for real, lasting change.
I'm ready to talk when you are.
